2K Hires Apex Legends Developer to Revitalize Challenged Hero Shooter Ambitious Title

The renowned publisher has appointed a seasoned producer from the creators of Apex Legends to direct the studio crew at 31st Union, which is currently developing the forthcoming over-the-shoulder action-packed title known as Project Ethos.

Management Change Follows Poor Response

The new appointee steps into the leadership position at 31st Union following the departure of previous head Michael Condrey, who was removed from his post due to Project Ethos' disappointing early showing last autumn.

Recently, the company's top executive David Ismailer updated employees about this decision through an internal memo, which highlighted that early feedback sessions had indicated the necessity for a more defined vision.

The president stated that the team is now reimagining Project Ethos with a refreshed focus, aiming to satisfy gamer demands.

Trend of Strategic Hires

This announcement echoes a similar action taken by 2K Games in the summer, when they hired an industry veteran from the Diablo team to assist with the BioShock studio Cloud Chamber.

Below is the complete text from Ismailer's communication:
