Intensive Moscow's Strikes Eliminate Power Throughout Kyiv

Power facilities targeted in Ukraine
The country's energy systems have faced escalating attacks in the past few days

Throughout the evening, Russian aerial assaults have led to power cuts in large parts of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

Nine people were wounded while residents in eastern neighborhoods were plunged into darkness and encountered interruptions to drinking water, as stated by municipal leaders.

Simultaneously, a minor was killed in a different Russian drone strike in the Zaporizhzhia region in the southeastern part, as reported by area administrators.

Russian forces has increased attacks on electrical systems over recent weeks, while officials has demanded "substantial measures" from international partners to apply pressure on Russia.

"What's needed is not window dressing but strong steps - from the US, the EU and the G7 - in delivering defensive weapons and applying restrictions," mentioned in a online statement.

Authorities reported that 450 drones and more than 30 projectiles struck the country's power systems, describing such attacks as "cynical and calculated" and against "critical infrastructure" as the weather cools.

The energy minister said Moscow was "conducting extensive attacks" and maintenance teams were working to restore power.

A wave of strikes damaged power facilities and civilian homes in the capital.

Five out of the nine people hurt in the attacks on the capital have been taken to hospital, as confirmed by city authorities.

Regional authorities said the metropolitan region came under intense attacks overnight. A seven-year-old child lost their life and several individuals were injured.

The assaults succeed periods of aerial attacks in the territory, sections of which remain under the control of invading troops.

The entire country is on alert for advanced weapon attacks, which are tougher to spot.

Government officials told journalists that Russia was purposely seeking to destroy the country's energy grid, with strikes already impacting fuel infrastructure.

Officials stated technical personnel and authorities were anticipating additional strikes.
